5 Ugly Faces of an Aging Narcissist They Hide from You

Five: the grandparent saint face.
This is the most painful face to deal with.

I’m telling you: an aging narcissist can suddenly become the sweetest, kindest person in the entire damn room the exact moment your children—their grandchildren—arrive. The exact same person who made you completely terrified to speak in your home can suddenly become playful, generous, patient, and highly affectionate.

They buy expensive gifts, take a million happy pictures, and loudly tell everyone around them how much family means—absolutely everything to them.

This behavior can make an adult child feel like they’re going completely crazy. You’re standing there watching your own child receive the warm, loving version of your parent that you completely begged for your entire childhood. Make it make sense.

And they use this to trap you. If you finally get upset and set a firm boundary to protect yourself, they will look around and say, “Look at how much the kids love me. Look at how happy we were. You are the one creating all the problems in the family.”

As they say this all the time, they do it on purpose. They realize they do not have to magically erase what happened to you in the dark—if they can just build a completely new generation of fans who never saw their real face.

Now, if you know exactly what happened in your childhood and you absolutely refuse to let them rewrite your history, drop the word “truth” in the comments, because you know what you survived—and nobody can take that away from you.

You do not owe a narcissist your future just because they managed to ruin your past. Period.

Getting old does not magically erase the terrible damage they have caused. And you do not have to fall for these desperate shape-shifting traps.

You’ve got to break this. You’ve got to set yourself free from the generational curse, because this is the time. It cannot continue. Let that fear, that sense of obligation, that sense of guilt go—because you will have to make a choice. Either you choose them, or you choose yourself. You can’t have both.
