When they walk into your house, they’re not looking around with love or appreciation. They’re studying you like a thief, scoping out a bank before a robbery. They silently watch how you dress, how you talk, how you decorate your living room, what brands you buy, and how you manage your daily routine.
Then a few weeks later, you notice something incredibly creepy. They buy the exact same furniture, adopt your same hobbies, buy the same clothes, and start trying to act like a carbon copy of you. But because they are fundamentally empty and hollow inside, they can never truly match your genuine spark.
So their copying quickly turns into a weird, aggressive, silent competition. They will try to outdo you in your own life, downplaying your achievements while bragging about how they did it better.
They are like an emotional parasite that wants to hollow you out and crawl into your skin to live your life. Keeping them outside your door is the only way to protect your unique energy and identity.
Fifth, you must shut out the arrogant critic who acts like your entire life and home are completely beneath them. This relative walks into your home looking like a royal king or a queen visiting a homeless shelter. They look at your furniture with a visible sneer.
They ask passive-aggressive, condescending questions about your neighborhood. And they love to use your living room as a runway to brag about their own money, their expensive cars, their vacations, or their high-status jobs.
Every single sentence that comes out of their mouth is a highly calculated slap designed to make you feel small, cheap, and completely second rate. They do not come to visit you because they genuinely care about your well-being. They come because they desperately need an audience and a stage to show off how much better they think they are compared to you.
