The narcissist loads your happiness. They’re joy killers. They hate your smile with a passion. The minute there is any joy around them, their demons get irritated. Why? Because they are so rotten inside. They’re filled with negativity, darkness, and pessimism—so much so that they cannot tolerate the light at all. Because of this internal rot, the smallest things make them miserable. Things that would make others awesome trigger the narcissist into a rage. I’m talking about the innocent moments that make you feel grateful to be alive—the simple pleasures that brighten your day. To a normal person, these are beautiful. To a narcissist, they are unbearable. They view your pure spiritedness as a personal attack on their misery. They cannot stand to see you enjoying your life, so they have to ruin it.
